Youth Dance Training

  • Our ballet curriculum is unparalleled in the region! Students learn classical ballet technique, artistry and terminology through caring, highly personalized instruction.

  • Our jazz classes focus on theatrical styles of dance and choreography as seen in Broadway musicals.

    Contemporary class teaches creative and improvisational movement that includes floor work, inversions, partnering and dynamic use of space.

Performances

  • Performs annually in December featuring a cast of professional guest artists and students.

  • All students are featured in a dance concert each spring. Acting students perform periodically at the small theatre space next door!

  • Hi, I’m Sarah. After training in classical ballet and musical theater, then dancing professionally, I discovered my passion for teaching. After moving to rural NY, I was inspired to create a dance company and school that would offer local families the kind of dance experiences I was fortunate to have growing up in city. Genesee Dance Theatre was established in 2014 and relocated to Perry in 2016.

    Passing on the language and discipline of ballet to new generations is my calling. I love watching dancers transform into competent and confident artists ready to take on the world. Read More.
