A New Chapter for Genesee Dance
Sarah Keeler, GDT founder, is stepping away from her role as owner and director this summer. Eliza Park assumes ownership of the company in June 2026. Visit our Facebook page for the full announcement and letters from both Eliza and Sarah. The future is bright with Eliza leading Genesee Dance & Pilates into the new season. Expect the same student-centered teaching, high quality classes, and welcoming environment that has made our studio feel like a second home to so many over the years. Pilates, adult and dance programs will continue to be offered with additional new options for homeschoolers and others in the community.

Hi, I’m Sarah. After training in classical ballet and musical theater, then dancing professionally, I discovered my passion for teaching. After moving to rural NY, I was inspired to create a dance company and school that would offer local families the kind of dance experiences I was fortunate to have growing up in city. Genesee Dance Theatre was established in 2014 and relocated to Perry in 2016.
Passing on the language and discipline of ballet to new generations is my calling. I love watching dancers transform into competent and confident artists ready to take on the world.
